BAJITO ONDA CLOTHING COMPANY has been discovered and two licensing agreements have been signed. I went to the World Trade Center Dallas one day about five weeks ago to try to find a rep that would sell our shirt line that we can produce here and train persons in doing so. The rep I went to is the one for the official Universal Studios and Disney characters - they also produce the official Scarface and Godfather oversized hot selling shirts, jackets, etc. When I told the rep I was looking for selling my line and merchandise he amazed me by looking long and hard at our logos me and another homie in the program was wearing. He stepped back and said... ‘Let me roll out the red carpet for you’ I said, ‘what on earth are you talking about?’ He said, do you have any idea how long the clothing industry has been trying to find a true Spanish name trademarked clothing company we could sell to the Spanish speaking market? I said, ‘well no I had no idea, but I have noticed there isn’t one. I mean there is FUBU, TRIBAL, LOWRIDER, ROLLIN HARD, SEAN JEAN, TOMMY, IZOD, G-UNIT, JOKER AND ON AND ON, but not a Spanish name - you’re right. Then he said, well how would you like to take it to the next level? I said ‘what’s the next level out of the trunk of a borrowed car? .. He said... LICENSING is what I’m talking about. The agreement I signed is for the company (to be announced a bit later in the developments) to produce, distribute, and handle all phases of the sales and billing processes. We have sent them one round of artwork from our collection and with the feedback from their creative department we are currently reworking them for more mainstream top level markets. I told him, well I’ve heard about licensing but never thought about it because it was too big for me to consider it for Bajito Onda. He took some shirts to NY to a sales meeting with all the other reps from MIAMI, NY, CHICAGO, LOS ANGELES and at the meeting they all decided to go with Bajito Onda to develop it into the first ever Spanish named mainstream clothing and merchandise line. Two days after they met I signed the licensing agreement. And a week after that I signed with Bioworld Merchandising of Las Colinas, TX for the headwear, belts, bags, buckles and such lines. Its all coming together slowly but with the fabulous help of my many friends in Hispanic media such as Robert Lopez, LA TIMES, World Magazine, CNN ESPANOL, UNIVISION, TELEMUNDO, CHANNEL 11 DALLAS, BOSTON GLOBE and on and on it is going to be a major launch to be held at the showroom at the World Trade Center Dallas. You can bet its going to be colorful with rappers like II KOLD SYNDICATE, BROWN AND PROUD 915 (we are now filming a music video featuring Bajito Onda Clothing Co.) as well as all our LOWRIDERS (we are pulling them all out for this one - bikes as well as hoppers and hydraulics). Its gonna be a crazy vida loca media launch. So watch for it or sign up now to be invited to the media launch after parties. Stay tuned and we will keep you posted. This is the best double Christmas present we could have ever hoped for. Now if we can just keep our doors open till these agreements materialize into badly needed funding for our programs. 100% of these agreements will go to funding our programs and initiatives in violence prevention and education.
